…and getting your furniture re-arranged for free! :)

Meet Arnie, a gorgeous hunk of a Rottweiler who his comfortable enough with his manliness to regularly shop in our Boutique.

He likes to keep his ears smelling clean and fresh (for the ladies no doubt!) with our Happytails Ear Clear.

He actually enjoys it so much he re-arranges the living room afterward as a thank you to his owners!

Thanks a mil to Ieva for the cute video!!

Getting Over Your Fear Of Dogs

Friday, February 26th, 2010

Meet Olly the Cavalier King Charles puppy – isn’t he cute? He dropped in with his owner to pick up some supplies for his new home.

Amazingly, his new owner (that’s the lady cuddling him in her arms adoringly) was terrified of dogs before he arrived. A friend convinced her to try starting out with a puppy and while she still feels a little nervous of strange dogs, Olly has pretty much cured her fear. As the lady herself said “how could anyone be afraid of him?” :)

In my experience meeting people who have a fear of dogs, it seems to usually stem from an incident during childhood – maybe a nip from a dog or even just from having to walk past the big dog at the top of the road that seemed so scary to a little person. Either that or simply due to a lack of contact with dogs, people develop a fear of them. Like anything, the longer you leave it simmer the more the fear escalates.

Take my completely irrational fear of going to the dentist – I can’t explain it but can’t get over it either. The only way I will get over it is to go, and have a good experience and realise its actually not that bad. A very nice lady from the local dental clinic shops in our Dun Laoghaire store, her clinic really does sound lovely and I’m slowly building myself up to picking up the phone for an appointment 😉

If you have a fear of dogs and would like some help overcoming it, therapy can be very helpful.
Katie Jane from the Paul Goldin Clinic shops in our store and tells us her (beautiful!) dogs help people overcome their fear of dogs in the clinic all the time.

Alternatively, if you have a dog who is fearful – our all natural Sleepy Time Tonic works wonders for stressful situations.

Caylyn is the Mollys.ie Best Rescue 2009!

Monday, October 12th, 2009

Caylyn, the beautiful whippet/greyhound cross was crowned the Mollys.ie Best Rescue 2009 at Pet Expo in the RDS yesterday.

Caylyn

Poor Caylyn was taken in by North Wexford SPCA after being found at the side of the road. They initialy thought she had been hit by a car but the vet discovered she had actually been shot in the shoulder!

She now has a wonderful home with a loving family and is growing more confident all the time. She had a consultation with pet behaviourist Jim Stephens at the show who assured her loving owner Barbara that Caylyn was doing great.

Caylyn will be having a photo shoot for our new website in the next few weeks, we look forward to seeing her strut her stuff!

Bonnie
In second place was Bonnie, the beautiful and energetic “cappuchino terrier” from Navan who will be competing in the Dublin Marathon for charity this year! She also took part in the Dog Training Ireland agility displays over the weekend.

Jake

Congratulations to all of our competitors and their loving owners, it was lovely to meet you and we hope you had as much fun as we did over the weekend. Thanks again for taking part and helping us to spread the word that rescues make great pets!

Meet Chunky, the very handsome Boxer boy.

He was the guest of honor at his owner’s wedding last year.

We love how dapper he looks in his Big Day Tux that was ordered specially for him from Mollys, not to mention the special Chunky themed mini wedding cake!

Many thanks to Nuala and Damien for the gorgeous pictures, we hope you had a fabulous day! :)
